Reduce costs, increase benefits
Panko Tam Thang Company Limited is currently the garment enterprise with the largest number of workers in Quang Nam with more than 7,000 workers and laborers. With a production scale of more than 250,000 products/day, the company has to maintain more than 70 workers just to count and classify goods.
Realizing that this manual method is expensive and prone to errors, Mr. Le Van Tien - IT employee of Panko Tam Thang LLC - proposed the RFID application to automate the process. After implementation, the number of personnel participating in the counting was reduced to 24 people, improving the accuracy and speed of data processing.
Mr. Tien's initiative "Based on RFID technology, building a product counting and classification system" has helped businesses save more than 1.7 billion VND per year.
As a technology maker, creativity is a passion. When the initiative is supported by leaders and the Union launches emulation, I have more motivation to improve and apply it in practice" - Mr. Tien shared.
Currently, he and his colleagues continue to develop additional reporting data management software, helping leaders to remotely monitor production in real time.
Similarly, with a passion for constant creativity, Ms. Truong Thi Hoang Linh - Deputy Head of Project Management Department and Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Fashion Garments Company Limited (operating in the production and export of garment products in Tam Thang Industrial Park, Tam Ky City, Quang Nam) - has possessed a huge achievement including 25 scientific topics and 42 initiatives applied, helping businesses save billions of dong each year. He is the only representative of Quang Nam to receive the Nguyen Duc Canh Award from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to date.
A typical example is the initiative "Reducing waste by setting material use norms", replacing high- consume materials with more optimal raw materials implemented since 2022, helping the company save more than 752 million VND per year.
Not only helping businesses reduce costs, Ms. Linh's initiative also contributes to ensuring jobs and stable income for workers. "My goal is not only to save but also to help the company have more resources to better care for workers" - Ms. Linh shared.
Trade unions encourage creativity in labor
Mr. Le Van Chau - Head of Human Resources Department of Fashion Garments Company - said: "Every year, the company records hundreds of initiatives from workers. We encourage all ideas, no matter how small, if the initiative has a high budget, the board of directors will support the implementation. Outstanding initiatives are rewarded quarterly and considered for annual awards.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ky Vinh, Chairman of the Trade Union of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of Quang Nam province, from 2017 to present, the grassroots trade union organization has contributed more than 1,400 initiatives, bringing a benefit value of about 10 billion VND. Not only during the COVID-19 period, the "One million initiatives" movement launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor continues to be widely implemented, creating motivation for workers to promote their creativity.
Not only in production, the spirit of creativity also spreads to other industries. Mr. Tran Quoc Bao, working at Tam Ky City Medical Center, has developed "XML Data Analysis Software to support the testing of health insurance examination and treatment information". This solution helps detect errors in payment data quickly, helping the center save more than 360 million VND/year. This initiative has been awarded the Creative Labor Certificate by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Mr. Luu Van Thuong - Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial Federation of Labor - emphasized: "Creative emulation not only brings economic benefits but also improves working conditions, helping workers have more motivation to contribute. The Trade Union will continue to accompany, encourage and support workers to promote initiatives to create more value for businesses and society.
