On August 5, the No. 2 survey team of the Can Tho City National Assembly Delegation led by Ms. Le Thi Thanh Lam - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Can Tho City - had a working session with the People's Committee of Tan Binh Commune on the current situation of organization and operation of the unit after the merger of administrative units.
Accompanying the delegation was Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) Thai Thu Xuong.
Before starting the working session, the working group quickly surveyed the working situation at the Commune Public Administration Service Center. Here, the working group visited and discussed with people when coming to do administrative procedures at the Center about the advantages and difficulties after the merger.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thuan - Deputy Secretary, Chairman of Tan Binh Commune People's Committee - said that after the merger, Tan Binh commune has a total natural area of 61.85km2, population of 38,060 people with 16 hamlets. Currently, the commune has 62 civil servants (25-person Party group; 37-person State group) and 20 part-time workers.

The commune has arranged 24 working rooms to serve agencies in the political system. The commune's public administrative service center is located in a separate area, ensuring a convenient working space, adequate equipment and meeting the necessary conditions to serve the people.
From July 1, 2025, the Commune Administrative Procedure Information System will be completely connected, put into stable and continuous operation, and used to operate and handle civil servants' work smoothly.

Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong suggested that the People's Committee of Tan Binh commune should review the machines that have expired and no longer meet the requirements of the job. From there, promptly report to the city to be arranged with equipment and technology infrastructure to ensure. In particular, it is necessary to assign cadres in charge of specific areas, especially the Party and mass organizations to promptly grasp the situation and support the people.
The Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also suggested that the Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the Commune Fatherland Front Committee should survey the number of enterprises and employers in the area to propose to the City Labor Federation on the establishment of commune unions if eligible. Thereby, facilitating labor management in the area, ensuring political security, social order and safety in enterprises, as well as performing well the role of the Trade Union representing workers.

Ms. Le Thi Thanh Lam - Deputy Head of the full-time delegation of the Can Tho City National Assembly Delegation - said that for the proposals of the commune, the delegation will synthesize opinions and report to the City Party Committee and the City People's Committee to provide necessary support. At the same time, it is recommended that the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee should quickly review equipment, machinery and human resources, especially specialized human resources, and promptly propose for the city to promptly arrange and increase support.
