Can the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor tell us about some innovations that have brought high efficiency, creating more confidence among female workers in the Trade Union organization?
- Improving the quality of Trade Union work in general and women's work in particular is an inevitable requirement of trade union activities in the current period, contributing to building a foundation for good implementation, innovating the content and methods of operation of the Trade Union organization to meet the requirements of union members and workers in the period of international integration. The innovation of women's work activities, including the work of caring for female workers, is clearly demonstrated, especially at the grassroots level.
In recent times, the work of female workers of the Trade Union (NCCD) has continuously innovated, achieving outstanding results with many good models, new and creative approaches in practice. Many operating models have been effectively developed and spread such as the Your Health model, Collective wedding ceremony, Summer Camp for workers' children, Breast milk storage room at the workplace... Most recently, implementation of point activities and training on representation, care, and protection of legitimate and legal rights and interests for female workers through dialogue at the workplace. Thereby, helping employers and employees clearly understand their roles, obligations and responsibilities when participating in labor. For female workers when participating in labor relations, they are fully exercised the rights and obligations of employees and are guaranteed by the State to have equal rights in all aspects with men.
It can be clearly seen that activities to care for female workers are being cared for and organized quite comprehensively, from policy development and supervision to spiritual life and health. In particular, these activities are all built and implemented from the needs of female workers, so they bring high trust to the Trade Union organization.
To take good care of female workers, what does female union workers need, lady?
- Women's union activities at all levels have not only been promoted but also innovated to meet the requirements of the new situation. Currently, the country has nearly 80,000 Mass Women's Committees. To continue promoting, it is necessary to strengthen the consolidation and improvement of the quality of the mass Women's Union's activities as well as continue to innovate the content and methods of activities to gather female workers and laborers. In particular, it is necessary to further promote the contents related to female workers in dialogue and negotiation, and include in the Collective Labor Agreement many more beneficial policies for female workers. In addition, the emulation movement "Good at public work, good at housework" among female union members and employees must closely follow the reality, content, and criteria of the movement and need to be concretized to suit each area, industry, profession, unit, attracting a large number of female union members and employees to participate...
Can you tell us what tasks will the Trade Union focus on on female workers in 2025?
- The key task of women's work in the Trade Union in 2025 focuses on: Accelerating the implementation of Conclusion No. 05/KL-TLD on continuing to implement Resolution No. 12b/NQ-BCH on the Women's Union of non-state enterprises; promoting and improving the quality of NCCD activities at all levels, focusing on the establishment of Women's Union in non-state enterprises according to the target of the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Mobilize and attract the participation of a large number of female union members and select outstanding and outstanding people to propose the award of the first "Active, Creative, Responsible Female Union Member" Award in 2025. Promote the implementation of activities to care for members and employees that have been effectively implemented before.
Well perform the role of representing, caring for, protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of female workers through dialogue at the workplace and negotiation and signing of collective labor agreements. Strengthen coordination in inspecting, supervising or presiding over the implementation of policies and regimes for female and child workers; evaluate the results of 5 years of implementing the female labor policy prescribed in Decree No. 145/2020/ND-CP dated December 14, 2020 of the Government guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Labor Code on working conditions and labor relations and Decree 105/2020/ND-CP dated September 8, 2020 of the Government regulating policies for preschool education development and proposing to perfect policies.
Strengthen coordination with relevant ministries and branches, the Committee for Women's Advancement, and the Women's Union at the same level in developing and implementing regulations on gender equality, ensuring the integration of gender equality issues in the development of legal documents. Effectively integrate the activities of the Women's Union with NCCD activities through the development and implementation of annual and term coordination plans and programs. Promote the application of digital transformation in NCCD activities.
