Income linked to skills and experience
Mr. Dam Duc Minh - Director of Minh Hoang Technology & Agriculture Company (Dinh Cong ward, Hanoi) said that his company has 34 fixed employees and regularly has about 70 seasonal workers, depending on the work contract with partners. Mr. Minh's company's job is to specialize in killing insects and parasites for factories, businesses, and corporations in industrial parks.
According to Mr. Minh, his company's work is very specific, many positions only need to recruit general laborers, but there are positions that are very difficult to recruit people. “There was a time when I recruited an agricultural engineer to implement a project for a factory of an FDI enterprise, the workload was large, the requirements were high. The initial salary offered was 30 million VND/month, I posted for 2 months, interviewed dozens of candidates but was unsuccessful. Anyone who heard the job request was shaken their heads. After that, I had to raise the salary to 50 million VND/month to recruit personnel. In addition to salary, the company also has to meet some specific employee benefits offered,” Mr. Minh said.
According to Ms. Dang Hoang Chi - Head of Human Resources Department of Thuan An Phat Group (Hoan Kiem ward, Hanoi), the income of workers today not only depends on the industry, but is also closely linked to work skills and experience. Workers with skills, quick adaptability, and willingness to take on many tasks are often prioritized by businesses and paid higher wages. In particular, workers in special industries with less supply receive higher wages and more benefits from businesses.
In the context of businesses recruiting in a selective direction, employees who meet job requirements from the beginning will have clear advantages. Businesses also do not hesitate to benefit to have the desired personnel," Ms. Chi said.
Benefit is an important "plus point
Not only competing with salaries, many businesses also focus on building a social welfare system to attract and retain workers. In addition to publicizing bonus policies for holidays and Tet, organizing periodic health check-ups, and activities to care for the spiritual life of workers...; many businesses also attract workers with many specific benefits such as committing to a stable working environment, with clear and transparent remuneration regimes, and limiting personnel fluctuations.

Ms. Phung Ngoc Trang - Deputy Director of BHT International Transport Company (Ha Dong ward, Hanoi) shared that her company has been operating in the field of transportation and delivery of goods for 15 years. In this field, personnel fluctuations are often very large, if there are no policies to reassure employees to stick together, businesses will have a lot of "headache" because of continuous recruitment.
We scientifically arrange a system of branches, workplaces and prioritize recruiting local people, creating conditions for workers to be arranged to work near their place of residence. Shortening working hours not only helps workers reduce travel costs, save time but also contributes to improving health and balancing life and work. Thanks to that, the rate of labor fluctuation in recent years has decreased significantly," Ms. Trang said.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Huong - former Director of the Institute of Social Labor Sciences, said that the trend of businesses expanding recruitment accompanied by salary, welfare and good working conditions shows that the labor market is gradually moving towards more stability and sustainability. This is also the strategy that businesses aim for: Instead of massive recruitment, we will focus on building a long-term personnel team, suitable for the development strategy.
According to information from the Hanoi Employment Service Center, to recruit quality personnel, recruiting businesses offer attractive incomes along with training policies, focusing on social welfare to increase competitiveness in the labor market. Most businesses publicly announce bonuses, Tet, periodic health check-ups...
