The Hanoi Labor Market Report for July 2025 of the Hanoi Employment Service Center shows that the city issued a decision to provide unemployment benefits to 8,893 cases in July.
According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, in July 2025, Hanoi's socio-economic situation continued to record positive results. In addition to continuous growth drivers, Hanoi's economy is also boosted by the two-level urban government organization model officially effective from July 1, 2025.
This reform is expected to contribute to streamlining the administrative apparatus, improving governance efficiency and creating more open development space for businesses, thereby positively affecting the investment and employment environment in the long term.
In that context, the capital's economy continues to maintain impressive growth momentum. The Government's support policies and the City's strong direction have helped key sectors such as industry, trade - services, tourism, FDI attraction and public investment achieve positive results, creating direct and clear impacts on the labor market.
Industrial production in the city continues to recover positively. The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) in July is estimated to increase by 2.7% compared to June and increase by 7.9% compared to the same period in 2024. In the first 7 months of 2025, this index increased by 6.2% over the same period, in which the processing and manufacturing industry - the sector that creates many key jobs - grew by 6.4%.
In the first 7 months of 2025, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached VND 531.2 trillion, up 11.9% over the same period last year. The excitement of the domestic market is the main driving force for recruitment needs for positions such as sales staff, sales staff, and seasonal workers, contributing to the absorption of a large number of unskilled workers, said Mr. Vu Quang Thanh - Deputy Director of Hanoi Employment Service Center.
According to Mr. Vu Quang Thanh, activities to support the development of the labor market continue to be effectively implemented. In July, the Hanoi Employment Service Center assessed and issued decisions to receive unemployment benefits for 8,893 cases with a total support amount of VND 290.3 billion. In addition, 121 workers have been supported with vocational training with a budget of 495 million VND, helping them return to the labor market soon.
