According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, compared to July 2025, the number of people with decisions to receive unemployment benefits in August decreased by about 41%, from 8,893 to 5,240 records.
This reflects that workers are more cautious about changing jobs in the remaining period of 2025. The mentality of changing jobs and changing jobs has stagnated, said Mr. Vu Quang Thanh - Deputy Director of the Hanoi Employment Service Center.
Based on a survey and information collection of over 5,240 unemployment benefit applications at the Hanoi Employment Service Center, it shows that in August 2025, female workers will continue to be the group with a higher risk of unemployment than men. Over 60% of the unemployment benefit applications are female compared to only about 40% for male workers.
The group of workers aged 52 - 40 and over 40 still accounts for the majority of workers applying for unemployment benefits. The 25-40 age group accounted for 64.77% (up 4.77% compared to the previous month) as the group with the highest rate. The age group over 40 accounted for 28% (a slight increase compared to 24% in July), showing that the unemployment situation in the middle-aged group fluctuated.
