On the afternoon of January 7, the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Labor Federation held the 4th Conference of the Executive Committee of the City Labor Federation, term XVII, 2023-2028 to summarize and evaluate the situation of Trade Union activities and the movement of workers, civil servants and laborers in the city in 2024 and deploy a number of key tasks in 2025.
Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Ha, Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, said: With the theme "Worker Solidarity - Implementing the Resolution", Workers' Month is one of the highlights - most prominent activities of the Da Nang City Labor Union in 2024, with 1,142 grassroots Labor Unions organizing activities.
The Labor Federation coordinated with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Da Nang City to organize the Launching Ceremony of the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene and the Workers' Month. At the Launching Ceremony, the Emulation Flag of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor was awarded to 5 units that excellently completed their tasks in 2024.
At the same time, 73 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, were presented to workers who had work-related accidents or occupational diseases, and 4 gifts, each worth 3 million VND, were presented to families of union members who died from work-related accidents or occupational diseases.
Coordinated with the City's National Assembly Delegation to organize a thematic voter contact program between the National Assembly Delegation and 250 voters who are workers in the city, resulting in 21 opinions, recommendations, and proposals to the National Assembly Delegation.
This is a forum for workers to make recommendations and proposals on issues related to life, employment, income, and to contribute ideas on draft laws related to the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.
Coordinated with Da Nang Radio and Television Station to produce the game show "Tan ca Vui khoe", the first television playground for workers.
Through the program, it helps workers to easily understand and remember legal regulations, and at the same time, introduces the image of city workers in the period of promoting industrialization and modernization, dynamic, creative, self-reliant, self-reliant, with many dreams and aspirations, good at work, and a beautiful lifestyle.
In 2024, the Da Nang City Labor Federation developed 16 programs with the participation of 48 Trade Unions in the city, broadcasting 2 programs/month.
The first running race for workers
The most exciting and attracting the participation of union members and workers in 2024 are sports activities such as: The 13th Traditional Sports Festival for City Workers; The 10th Excellent Safety and Hygiene Student Competition.
In particular, for the first time, the City Labor Federation coordinated with the Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks and Lao Dong Newspaper to organize the "Connecting Steps - 2024" Running Race, which caused a great stir.
Also during Workers' Month, the Da Nang City Labor Federation coordinated with the Institute for Workers' and Trade Unions Research and specialized departments of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to conduct four sociological surveys on housing issues, trade union institutions, occupational safety and hygiene in boarding houses, self-management groups and wages of workers in textile and garment enterprises.
The organization signed a cooperation agreement with Viettel Construction Branch in Da Nang. According to the cooperation agreement, the unit committed to a 10% discount for workers and employees and a 15% discount for union members when using Viettel products compared to the prices of products listed on the software system.
From the source of "Trade Union Social Activity Fund", support was deployed to build new and repair 103 Trade Union Shelters (55 newly built houses and 48 repaired houses) worth 3.5 billion VND.
Focus on effectively implementing Resolution No. 33/2024/NQ-HDND dated July 30, 2024 of the City People's Council on entrusting the city's budget capital through the Da Nang City Branch of the Bank for Social Policies 50 billion VND for lending to civil servants and public employees; 50 billion VND for lending to workers in difficult circumstances in the city.
Implementing "Union Meals" at 198 grassroots unions with 42,000 union members participating and benefiting from the program with a total amount of over 900 million VND. Giving 1,000 gifts to support union members and people in difficult circumstances with a total amount of 1 billion VND...
"The above activities have supported and encouraged union members and workers to overcome difficulties to continue working and producing, contributing to the city's economic and social development and contributing to ensuring social security in the city in 2024," said Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Ha.
