On June 5, at Covina Co., Ltd. in An Hiep Industrial Park, Phu Tuc commune, the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) coordinated with the Board of Directors of the enterprise to organize a conference to recognize union members and establish grassroots trade unions.
Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thang - Member of the Standing Committee, Deputy Head of the Trade Union Affairs Committee of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation, representatives of localities, business leaders and workers representing 285 people working at the company.
At the conference, the Provincial Labor Federation announced the decision to recognize 105 trade union members; appointed the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union (CĐCS) consisting of 5 members, with Ms. Phan Thi Minh Thu holding the position of Chairwoman of the grassroots Trade Union.
At the same time, the Inspection Committee of the grassroots trade union consists of 3 appointed members. Ms. Nguyen Huynh Thien Kim holds the position of Vice Chairman, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the grassroots trade union of the enterprise.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thang emphasized that the establishment of grassroots trade unions contributes to gathering workers, building harmonious and stable labor relations, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members.
Leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation proposed that the new Trade Union Executive Committee quickly stabilize the organization, build operating regulations, promote the role of a bridge between workers and employers; taking the task of caring for union members as the focus.
Speaking to receive the assignment, Ms. Phan Thi Minh Thu - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Covina Co., Ltd. - expressed her determination to work with the Executive Committee to build a strong trade union organization, representing, caring for and protecting the rights of workers.
Representing the enterprise, Mr. Cu Van Thanh - Director of Covina Co., Ltd. - committed to creating favorable conditions for trade unions to operate effectively, coordinating to care for the material and spiritual lives of workers.
Currently, the Provincial Labor Federation manages 5 commune and ward trade unions and 635 grassroots trade unions and trade unions with 176,832 union members out of a total of 184,479 workers, continuing to affirm the role of representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers.
