Expanding the Trade Union organization network
The grassroots trade union of Safran Representative Office in Hanoi City is 1 of 14 grassroots trade unions awarded the decision to be established by the Hoan Kiem Ward Labor Federation on the occasion of the 97th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen - Vice Chairwoman of Hoan Kiem Ward Trade Union, the Ward Trade Union is continuing to actively coordinate with functional agencies and businesses to guide the establishment of Trade Union organizations, bringing more workers into the Trade Union organization, so that they can be cared for, protected and accompanied.
Speaking when receiving the decision to establish the grassroots trade union awarded by the Hoan Kiem Ward Labor Federation (Hanoi), Chairman of the Safran Representative Office in Hanoi Phan Hoang Ngan emotionally said: The establishment of the grassroots trade union is an important milestone, showing the concern of the Trade Union organization in gathering and uniting workers (NLĐ), building an increasingly strong Trade Union organization right from the grassroots level.
We deeply understand that the grassroots trade union is the place that is most directly close to union members and workers; is a bridge between workers and Party committees, authorities and unit leaders. To make the Trade Union organization truly develop and operate effectively, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union will develop specific operating programs and plans; step by step consolidate the organization, develop union members, and build a team of officials with a sense of responsibility, enthusiasm, closeness and attachment to workers" - Chairman of the grassroots trade union of Safran Representative Office in Hanoi City emphasized.
Bringing specific benefits to workers
Also in July, the Trade Union of High-Tech Parks and Industrial Parks of Hanoi City established 11 grassroots trade unions with a total of 412 union members. This is the result of promoting propaganda and mobilization based on grasping the thoughts and aspirations of workers and the concern and guidance of the Trade Union of High-Tech Parks and Industrial Parks of Hanoi City, and the consensus of business leaders. The voluntary joining of workers in the Vietnam Trade Union organization shows the efforts of Trade Union officials in the process of propaganda and mobilization.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Federation, right from the beginning of 2026, trade union levels in the Capital have proactively surveyed, approached businesses, innovated propaganda methods, mobilized workers to join the Vietnam Trade Union organization; and at the same time strengthened coordination with Party committees, authorities, state management agencies and employers in the process of establishing grassroots trade unions.
The fact that the Capital's trade union levels propagated and mobilized the establishment of 566 new grassroots trade unions, admitting 15,600 union members in July alone, shows the proactive and determined spirit of the trade union levels in gathering workers and expanding the coverage of the Trade Union organization, especially in non-state-owned enterprises.
However, the establishment of grassroots trade unions is only the beginning. A more important issue is to maintain substantive and effective activities, bringing specific benefits to union members and workers such as dialogue, negotiation, signing collective labor agreements with contents beneficial to workers; effectively organizing patriotic emulation movements, promoting initiatives, technical improvements, improving labor productivity... The City Labor Federation is committed to continuing to accompany, guide and support grassroots trade unions in the process of organizing activities; promptly removing difficulties and obstacles.
