Nearly 360,000 inspections of compliance with the Trade Union Charter
The conference was attended by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Party Committee Secretary, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Vice Presidents: Huynh Thanh Xuan, Nguyen Xuan Hung, Phan Van Anh; representatives of the Central Inspection Committee, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, the Party Central Committee Office, the Central Internal Affairs Committee, the Department of Internal Political Security (Ministry of Public Security).
According to the draft report, Resolution 06b and Conclusion 01 have created a positive change in awareness of inspection and supervision activities of trade unions at all levels.
The implementation of solutions to strengthen the leadership and direction of Executive committees and Standing Committees of trade unions at all levels for the activities of trade union inspection committees has achieved certain efficiency, the development and implementation of the regulations, programs and work plans of trade union inspection committees have been ensured.
In addition, the quality and efficiency of the activities of the Trade Union Inspection Committee continue to be improved and put into practice. Every year, the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and Trade Union Inspection Committees at all levels develop and issue specific work programs and inspection and supervision plans, close to the reality and direction of the higher-level trade union.
From 2021 to 2025, trade unions at all levels have conducted: Inspection of compliance with the Trade Union Charter for nearly 360,000 sessions; supervision of 127,000 sessions; inspection of management and use of trade union finance, assets and economic activities for 399,000 sessions, and recommendations for recovery of over VND 780 billion.
Through inspection and supervision, it is shown that the effectiveness of promoting trade unions at all levels to comply with the Trade Union Charter, the management and use of trade union finances in accordance with regulations; making recommendations and proposals to overcome, contributing to improving the quality of management, revenue and expenditure of finance and assets; enhancing the effectiveness of trade union economic activities; preventing negativity, preventing and combating corruption and waste...
President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang said that the content of the draft report closely follows the tasks and solutions identified in Resolution 6b and Conclusion No. 01; clearly assess the achieved results, difficulties, problems, shortcomings, limitations and causes; identify lessons learned; clearly assess the current context and forecast the domestic and international situation affecting the Trade Union organization in the coming time; propose solutions to continue improving the quality and effectiveness of the inspection and supervision work of the Trade Union organization in the next phase.
Improving the qualifications of officials in inspection and supervision work
At the conference, delegates from provinces and cities, and industry unions gave additional clarifications on the results implemented at the grassroots level; proposed solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of inspection and supervision work of the Trade Union organization in the coming time.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Dung - Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - said that all comments affirmed that inspection and supervision work is very necessary for the Vietnam Trade Union organization. The opinions also say that the staff working in inspection work at the higher-level trade union or higher is a full-time trade union staff, only then can it be effective.
In addition, many opinions have commented that, no matter what the inspection committee's model is, it is necessary to maintain and promptly adjust regulations on inspection and supervision, disciplinary action, handling complaints and denunciations as well as receiving union members, workers and citizens; the lower-level trade union will rely on this regulation to organize implementation...
Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - suggested that members of the Executive Committee and the Standing Committees of trade unions at all levels continue to pay attention to leadership, direction, and creating conditions to promote the inspection and supervision of trade unions, especially in the immediate future to serve the work of arranging and perfecting the organizational apparatus and handing over work. Along with that, Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan suggested that cadres working in inspection and supervision of trade unions at all levels continue to promote their roles, raise awareness, and improve their professional qualifications to do their tasks well.
