Sports activities for female workers
Ms. Le Thi Hien (34 years old), a union official at Pro Sports Hong Thuan Factory (Nam Dinh) said that female workers make up the majority of the company, so all days related to women are organized on a large scale and practically. “Every year, when October 20 is approaching, the whole company, especially female workers, are excited and happy. This year, we organized volleyball, tug of war, and relay races to welcome and honor the company's women,” Ms. Hien said.
According to Ms. Hien, the program was jointly implemented by the company's Board of Directors and the Giao Thuy District Labor Union. The budget and organization plan were discussed and implemented appropriately, safely, effectively and happily.
Sharing more, the female union official said that at least 1 month before, the company and Giao Thuy District Union had discussed thoroughly about the budget, performances, and organization time. The ultimate goal was to help workers connect with each other more and have fun and relaxing moments after hard working days.
Ms. Tran Thi Loan - a garment worker at Pro Sports Hong Thuan Factory shared: "The union and the company have created favorable conditions in terms of uniforms, time, as well as drinking water costs and rewards so that we, the workers, can have a meaningful program on October 20th."
According to Ms. Hien, the activities to celebrate Vietnamese Women's Day on October 20 this year by the company and the union were carried out from October 11. Workers participated enthusiastically, helping to dispel all fatigue quite effectively, making work and life feel more interesting.
In further discussion, Ms. Hien said that in the following years, the company and the District Labor Federation will research and organize more meaningful and practical programs specifically for female workers every quarter, not just on March 8 or October 20. Partly because this is the main target group in the company, on the other hand, we want to create impressive colors to help reduce pressure and make workers' lives more joyful.
Hearty meal
Ms. Tran Thi Trang (33 years old) - a garment worker at Hai Hau Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company (Nam Dinh) said that workers, especially female workers, look forward to March 8 and October 20 every year. "Last year, the company and the union organized a sumptuous party meal for all staff on October 20, and female workers were given flowers. This year is the same, extremely sweet and meaningful" - Ms. Trang said.
According to Ms. Trang, the meal on October 20 was much fresher and more nutritious than the daily meals. Because everyone got to eat more chicken, shrimp, fish, soft drinks and many dishes like going to a party.
The female worker added that the fresh flower baskets will be given to each group, and each year if possible, each female worker will be given a rose. Receiving and looking at the fresh bouquets on their day, Ms. Trang and the female workers felt extremely proud and happy.
“Fresh flowers symbolize beauty. Nothing more is needed, receiving a bouquet of fresh flowers on October 20th is enough to make me happy. I thank the company’s management and the union very much, I hope to maintain this activity for a long time,” Ms. Trang expressed.
According to Ms. Trang, although these two activities do not have much material value, they make her and the female workers extremely happy. Compared to other companies in the area that do not have any programs or only receive flowers, Ms. Trang appreciates and wants to be more attached to the company.
