Workers want to reduce working hours to 44 hours/week

On June 11, a working delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation led by Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu visited Pou Yuen Vietnam Co., Ltd. (PouYuen Company).

Mr. Thieu Quoc Ngan - General Director of Vietnam Region of PouChen International Group, the parent company of PouYuen Company - said that from the beginning of the year to now, the company's production and business situation is still stable, ensuring jobs, income, and welfare for employees. The company's labor productivity is also maintained stably, meeting production requirements.

The company always promotes the improvement of working processes, skills training, and capacity building for employees to improve work efficiency, increase labor productivity, and at the same time regularly improve the working environment so that employees can work better and improve work efficiency.

The company always coordinates well with the grassroots trade union in taking care of the material and spiritual life of employees, thanks to which, labor relations at the company are harmonious and stable, and complicated disputes have not arisen in recent years.

Representatives of the Executive Committee of the Grassroots Trade Union of PouYuen Company said that the demand for social housing among workers of the company is very large, currently there are about 3,000 workers who said they have a need to buy, but the criteria for buying houses are not suitable for the actual conditions of workers, so it is difficult to access.

Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu wished that in the coming time, the Company and the grassroots trade union would continue to pay attention to caring for the lives and jobs of workers, considering workers as their own relatives to care for and improve welfare and employment regimes so that their lives become better and better.

Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu also requested the grassroots trade union of PouYuen Company to actively and quickly implement the resolutions of trade union congresses at all levels to union members and workers so that they understand and accompany in implementing the targets set by the trade union organization, especially focusing on promoting the spirit of creative labor, improving labor productivity, improving income for workers, contributing to the successful implementation of the double-digit growth target set by the Government.

In addition, grassroots trade unions need to do a good job of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers so that they can see the presence of the trade union anytime, anywhere.

Grassroots trade unions need to promote emulation movements, strengthen the application of technology, propose technical innovation initiatives to increase labor productivity, benefit and save for units and businesses. At the same time, do well in propaganda activities, raise awareness for union members and workers about policies and laws; equip themselves with self-defense capacity and confidence of the pioneering class in the cause of economic development of the country," Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu emphasized.
