Policy capital helps workers in the suburbs of Hanoi build the economy

Hanoi - Dozens of workers in Dong Anh commune have been excited to receive preferential loans from the Social Policy Bank.

Helping workers

Dong Anh commune was formed on the basis of merging the entire natural area of communes with a population of more than 122,000 people. After 4 months of operating the 2-level local government model, the apparatus of the Commune People's Committee has basically operated to ensure smoothness, discipline, and order in performing public duties.

Therefore, the support, development of the labor market, and job creation for workers in Hanoi in the last 6 months of 2025 are given special attention. In which Dong Anh commune has agreed to prioritize job creation for workers, this will be a key task associated with the socio-economic development strategy in the commune.

In the bustling atmosphere of the loan program and job introduction program in early November, Ms. Chu Thi Yen could not hide her emotions.

"I am really happy and excited to receive the attention of the State. We are workers, thanks to this capital, we have the conditions to cultivate fields, grow fruit trees, and create more jobs," Ms. Yen shared.

With the money borrowed from time to time, her family boldly invested in the agricultural economic model. She said that her family's garden currently has about a year and six dozen longan trees, all of which are invested from loans and have now begun to be harvested.

"Thanks to the loan, we have harvested a bumper crop. Now that I have more capital, my family continues to invest in growing more oranges and fabric. The loan cost is also reasonable, the interest rate is low, so we are very assured of producing," Ms. Yen added.

For her, the loan not only helps her family have more stable income but also really helps farmers like her reduce many hardships and confidently get rich on their own land.

From fruit gardens to clean water projects

As the Head of the Savings and Loan Team, Ms. Phung Thi Thu said that the loan sources used by the people in the team are very diverse, depending on the actual needs of each family.

"In Dong Anh, there are currently rice fields, so many people have borrowed capital from the job creation program to grow fruit trees such as grapefruit and longan. This model is showing very good results," said Ms. Thu.

In addition, another loan program that has been enthusiastically responded to by the people is loans to build clean water and environmental sanitation works.

"Previously, the clean water loan was only 20 million, but now it has been increased to 50 million. Thanks to that, many households have the conditions to buy water tanks, build tanks, and ensure hygienic domestic water for the whole family," Ms. Thu shared.

Her family is also a typical example of using capital effectively. Her family focused on growing longan and her garden also had sweet fruits.

As a direct bridge between the bank and the people since 2017, Ms. Thu feels very happy to see the policy truly come into life, helping members improve their economy and stabilize their lives.

"We are very excited because the policy bank has created conditions for people to borrow capital to develop economic models, from cultivation to small business. Thanks to that, many people's lives have improved significantly," Ms. Thu said proudly.
