On the evening of March 6, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) and LNT 7979 Service Development Joint Stock Company signed a memorandum of understanding "On cooperation in implementing social housing projects for workers and laborers in Ho Chi Minh City".
Accordingly, the two sides coordinate to implement the development of social housing projects for workers and laborers of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, and at the same time contribute to the implementation of the goal of developing 200,000 social housing units by 2030 in the city according to Plan No. 06-KH/TU dated July 30, 2025 of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee. The two sides set a target to coordinate in developing and completing at least 30,000 social housing units by 2030.
Mr. Vo Khac Thai - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that the two sides will jointly research and coordinate to invest in implementing social housing projects for low-income people, workers and laborers in the Chau Duc area, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province (formerly), now Ho Chi Minh City; Coordinate to establish, complete, and submit construction procedures and other related legal procedures in accordance with the order, legal procedures and current legal regulations, ensuring that the project is eligible for construction and business.
At the same time, research and propose necessary support mechanisms and policies to promote the implementation of social housing projects; coordinate the implementation of investment, construction and business of social housing projects in accordance with legal regulations and appraise and select cases that meet the conditions to buy, lease-purchase, lease social housing in accordance with current legal regulations.
The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation will preside over surveying, summarizing and providing information on the demand for social housing in each form (lease, lease-purchase, purchase) of workers and laborers and propose and recommend to competent state agencies on preferential mechanisms and policies and land funds for social housing development related to cooperating social housing projects," Mr. Thai said.
