Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) Phan Van Anh - Head of the research team to develop the Project "Building a cultural and labor safety movement among workers" and members representing the leaders of departments and units under the VGCL such as Labor Relations, Propaganda, Finance, Policy - Law, Women's Union, Labor Newspaper, Institute of Labor Safety and Hygiene Science... will attend the meeting.
It is known that, implementing the 2024 work program, the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has issued a plan to research and develop the Project "Building a labor safety culture movement among workers" (Project).
The purpose of the Project is to implement Directive No. 31-CT/TW dated March 19, 2024 of the Secretariat on continuing to strengthen the Party's leadership over occupational safety and hygiene in the new situation; implementing the Law on Occupational Safety and Hygiene and Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Performing the functions and promoting the role of trade union organizations in mobilizing, propagating, and building a culture of occupational safety among union members and workers for the purpose of ensuring the rights of workers to work in conditions that ensure occupational safety and hygiene, preventing and minimizing occupational accidents and diseases.
The project includes the following contents: research on the theoretical basis, urgency, and scientific basis of building a labor safety culture movement among workers. Research on some international models of building a labor safety culture in enterprises.
Conduct a survey of some models of occupational safety culture in enterprises, especially enterprises in industries with high risks of occupational accidents, occupational diseases, and employing many workers. Clearly define the objectives, contents, solutions, assign responsibilities for implementation, implementation progress, and budget for implementing the Project.
