In this version, a new introduction screen indicates that the ad will be displayed based on the approximate location, search keyword or map area that the user is viewing. In addition, the ad also appears in the "Suggested Places" section - a feature that was added from the first beta.
According to Apple, advertising data will not be linked to user accounts to ensure privacy. Viewed or interacted ads will not be associated with Apple ID, and the company affirms that it does not collect, store or share this data with third parties.
Previously, signs of advertising appeared from the first beta version, but by beta version 2, testers may be able to see it more clearly. It is not yet clear whether Apple has fully activated advertising or just deployed notification screens.
Previously, Apple announced plans to put ads on Apple Maps, expected to be widely deployed this summer in the US and Canada on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Ads will be labeled "Ad", similar to the display on the App Store.
