We have heard for a while that Apple is developing a plastic version of the Apple Watch SE to bring a cheaper, more child-friendly version. However, realizing this vision seems to be facing more obstacles than expected.
After Apple's September event passed without any new Apple Watch SE being introduced, journalist Mark Gurman revealed that the development team had encountered challenges related to "costs and quality" in plastic case design, but the project was still underway.
However, in the news released this week, Gurman said that the plastic Apple Watch SE model is currently at serious risk.
According to Gurman, the design team was not satisfied with the products appearance, while the operating team had difficulty making the plastic case significantly cheaper than the current aluminum frame.
It has been more than 2 years since Apple launched the second-generation Apple Watch SE, and this watch model is now considered a boring one, according to Engadgets creative creative creative Amy Skorheim after experiencing the device.
Obviously, the Apple Watch SE needs a refresh, but the possibility of a plastic case version is still a big question mark.
