Apple has just released iOS 26 Developer Beta 5, bringing a series of dynamic effects, design refinements and improved functions, preparing for the official release expected in September.
New photo activities for the Control Center and lock screen
In this beta, Control Center is added a new activation effect when users switch between pages or turn on/off the function button.
The components on the screen have a slight "jumping" feeling, creating a more intuitive experience. The lock screen also receives flash photos when entering the password, making the operation more vivid and easy to observe.
Upgraded functions and utilities
A useful new feature is the ability to check the security of the Wi-Fi network right in the Control Center. If the network is secured by a password, the lock icon will be displayed next to the network name.
Dynamic Island has also been upgraded with a new low battery warning as battery capacity drops to 20%, while displaying the option to activate immediate battery saving mode.
In addition, iOS 26 Developer Beta 5 also refined the user interface with larger loose lenses for the home screen dock bar, some new iconos and slight aesthetic changes in many areas.
Preparing for the official release
According to sources, the stable version of iOS 26 will launch around September, which is the same time as the launch of the iPhone 17 series. The public beta of iPadOS 26 has also been released, showing that the development process is going as planned.
Improvements in animation, interface, and utilities in iOS 26 Developer Beta 5 not only enhance the visual experience, but also help users interact with the iPhone more intuitively and conveniently.
Apple expects these refinements to complete the operating system before officially reaching millions of users this fall.
