VND1,486 billion is needed to upgrade technology infrastructure for communes and wards in Ho Chi Minh City

HCMC - According to the Department of Science and Technology, to equip information technology infrastructure for wards and communes, a total cost of about 1,486 billion VND is needed.

On July 31, the Ho Chi Minh City Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee held a regular public opinion meeting in July 2025 for the area of 30 commune-level administrative units (under the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau), to improve the work of grasping the situation of public opinion in the area.

Giving opinions at the conference, the representative of Tan Hai ward commented that although the staff have been very active in serving the people, the software system of the Public Administration Service Center is currently not operating stably; leading to the resolution of some issues being slow, affecting the progress of work resolution.

Representatives of Phu My ward, Phuoc Thang ward and some units also commented that there are still some problems with facilities, software... At the same time, they said that, in addition to serving public administration, there is also a need to pay more attention to many other aspects of culture, society, security and order in the area...

Mr. Nguyen Ky - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City - said that through inspection and review, some software had errors, slow connection... The Department has recorded and transferred information to the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center (under the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee) for consideration and remediation.

"Currently, the department has compiled a proposed estimate for equipping information technology infrastructure for wards, communes, and special zones (168 units) and sent it to the Department of Finance, with a total cost of about VND 1,486 billion," Mr. Ky informed.

Many other opinions raised at the conference were also accepted and explained by relevant departments and branches.

According to Ms. Le Thi Thuy - Deputy Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the contributed opinions will be compiled, reported to the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for consideration, and deployed to localities to better and better operate the two-level government.
