On July 1, Can Tho City People's Committee organized the announcement of the establishment of the Advisory Council on the innovation and creative startup ecosystem and criteria for recognizing the Center for Innovation and the center for supporting creative startups.
The model of Can Tho City Innovation Center is being shaped and developed with 4 core pillars, including: model according to coordinating pillars, model according to public-private partnership pillars, model according to Deep-Tech pillars and model according to commercialization pillars.
In which, the Startup and Innovation Complex (CASIC Complex Hub) has 12 functional sub-zones and 10 labs concentrated in 3 clusters.
R&D clusters belonging to universities, along with specialized scientific application research centers; innovation clusters for businesses, institutes, and schools; community connection space, exhibitions and startup support services, and co-working spaces.
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi - Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee - informed that the advisory council will play the role of advising and advising the City People's Committee on the development of the Innovation Center; connecting resources inside and outside the city; promoting and developing the city's innovation and creative startup ecosystem.
Through this, Can Tho has gradually become a solid foundation to support innovation activities, improve productivity and quality, enterprise competitiveness, develop key products of the city, contributing to increasing the proportion of total productivity factor (TFP) contribution to GRDP.
I believe that, with the companionship of the business community, scientists, institutes, and schools, Can Tho City will build and develop an innovation and creative startup ecosystem of regional and Mekong Delta regional scale, aiming to become a driving force for development, a nucleus for connecting and linking regions. Striving to 2030, Can Tho will be in the top 1,000 cities with the highest innovation startup ecosystem index globally" - Mr. Khoi said.
