According to Mr. Lo Van Cuong - Standing Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee, in 2026, the province sets a target to strongly improve the E-commerce Development Index (EBI), striving to increase ranking and be in the middle-well group of the whole country. To realize this goal, Dien Bien will train and train digital business skills for about 100-150 turns of businesses, cooperatives, business households, students and management staff. From there, increase the rate of businesses applying e-commerce to 60-65%.
Along with that, organizing a cashless payment fair, contributing to raising the rate of cashless payments in e-commerce to about 50-55%, gradually forming the habit of digital consumption in the community. According to Mr. Cuong, it is expected that in the second quarter of 2026, the province will organize a "Cashless Payment Fair" in the Muong Thanh Pedestrian Street area. Shopping space will apply 100% electronic payment methods through QR codes, e-wallets and digital banks.
Recently, the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center has coordinated to organize the mega live session "Dien Bien Agricultural Journey". This is also the first time Dien Bien province has organized a large-scale mega live session for many years.
The program introduced and promoted many agricultural products, OCOP products, specialties and traditional craft village products of the province such as: Thanh An sweet potato, vermicelli, crispy dried sticky corn, macadamia, smoked meat; Seng cu rice, upland sticky rice, chẩm chéo, coffee, tea... with the participation of many content creators who have followers from many provinces and cities across the country and Dien Bien province.
Mr. Ly Thanh Tiem - Director of the Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center - said that at the end of the mega live session "Dien Bien Agricultural Product Journey", there were 6,900 successfully closed orders, helping farmers consume 30 tons of sweet potatoes and some other OCOP products in the session.
The Standing Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee added that, in addition to demand stimulus events, the province will focus on in-depth training by opening training classes, with the participation of experts, KOL, KOC and the Vietnam E-commerce Association to bring the most practical knowledge.
