Da Nang aims to implement 100% of public services online

Da Nang - Over the years, the city has identified digital transformation as a "new driving force" and the "key" to solving development bottlenecks.

Effectively implementing digital transformation, Da Nang has won many prestigious awards such as: Vietnam Digital Transformation Award 2023 (4 consecutive years 2020-2023), Vietnam Smart City Award (only) 2023 (4 consecutive years 2020-2024) and Specialized Awards (smart city of operation, management, infrastructure, public services; smart, green, clean environmental management city; attractive city for innovative startups).

Recently, at the Vietnam Digital Transformation Awards Ceremony 2024, Da Nang City received 2 awards in the category of Outstanding Digital Transformation State Agency.

The first award from the People's Committee of Da Nang City with the solution "Smart Operation Monitoring System of Da Nang City". The next award from the Department of Information and Communications of Da Nang with the solution "Digital Journey Monitoring Platform".

According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Thanh - Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Da Nang, currently, in Da Nang City, online public services account for 95% of the total, the remaining 5% is due to policy, the city is applying digital technology to solve the remaining problems.

Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Da Nang hopes that by early 2025, Da Nang will be approved for a pilot mechanism to solve the remaining 5%, bringing all public services of Da Nang City to 100% full scale.

Over the past years, Da Nang has identified digital transformation as a "new driving force" and the "key" to solving development bottlenecks; all agencies and organizations in the political system participate in implementing digital transformation.

Every year, the city issues a plan to implement digital transformation tasks, which sets out many specific targets for providing online public services. In 2024, the group of digital government development targets includes 12/20 targets for online public services, including 5/12 city-specific targets and 5 targets related to the use of digital data.

As a result, according to the report of the Ministry of Information and Communications, the standing agency of the National Committee on Digital Transformation, as of July 2024, the rate of online public services in Da Nang City is the highest in the country at 95% (the provincial average is 55%); the rate of online records in the entire process is 65% (the provincial average is 17%).
