On October 18, at the International University - Ho Chi Minh City National University, the 15th ABAII Unitour program took place with the theme "Application of Blockchain and AI in the engineering industry: From learning assistants to new job opportunities", with the participation of nearly 300 students.
The event was organized by the Institute of Blockchain Technology and Artificial Intelligence ABAII, Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA) to popularize Blockchain (blockchain technology) and AI (artificial intelligence), and open up new career opportunities for students in the digital age.
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Truong Minh, International University, shared about attractive career opportunities in the Blockchain and AI industry, the ability to completely change the career of young workers in the engineering industry, not only in terms of competitive salaries but also the opportunity to grasp and lead global technology trends.
Mr. Le Anh Quoc, Business Development Director of AlphaTrue Technology Joint Stock Company, cited Microsoft's latest report in May 2024, which showed that 66% of leaders said they would not hire employees lacking AI skills. For employees, AI not only improves labor capacity but also breaks down many common barriers in their careers, helping to increase career opportunities and income.
“In other words, AI is not just an opportunity, but is becoming a mandatory requirement for most young workers,” Mr. Le Anh Quoc emphasized.
For the Blockchain field, career opportunities for students are even more attractive and clear when the average recruitment salary of this industry is 3-5 times higher than similar positions in traditional industries.

Mr. Hoang Minh Thien, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Blockchain Training and Startup Center, cited some "hot" jobs such as Security Engineers with salaries up to 18,000 USD/month when working for international enterprises. With the same position in traditional fields, the income is about 2,500 - 6,000 USD/month. Similarly, other jobs such as data analysis, programmers... have income in the blockchain industry that is also much higher than traditional industries.
Decoding the huge salaries of Blockchain and new technology industries such as AI, Mr. Hoang Minh Thien mentioned 4 main factors: High barriers to entry due to complexity and newness; The current labor supply is much lower than the demand; Project revenue and profit are often superior to traditional industries; The investment trend in these two technology industries is very large.
“The income from the Blockchain and AI industry is large, which means that competition in the industry will become increasingly fierce. Students need to quickly grasp this opportunity at an early stage. If they miss it or are 3-5 years behind, when the supply is saturated, it will be very difficult to have similar opportunities,” Mr. Thien shared.
