Google is planning to deploy a major upgrade for the Gemini app, marking an important shift in its AI ecosystem development strategy.
According to a Google CEO, the team is building a completely new version under the internal code name UX 2.0, and is preparing to launch the Gemini app for macOS, which is also the first time Google has developed a dedicated staffing version for this AI platform.
In recent times, the Gemini application has received mixed responses from users, especially regarding navigation capabilities and interface layouts.
Users said that the function items are arranged messily, making it difficult to find important settings, and the overall experience is not intuitive.
Comparisons with competitors have increased the pressure to improve. Google seems to be well aware of this problem and is investing heavily in a comprehensive redesign.
Kil Logpatrick, Group Product Director at Google DeepMind, directly responded to a user on the X platform, confirming that Google is making profound changes.
He emphasized that the UX 2.0 project not only edits the image interface, but focuses on restructuring the entire user's usage journey.
This includes improving task completion, optimizing menus, function structures, and helping users understand how the application works.
Kilpatrick further explains the difference between UI (user interface) and UX (user experience).
While UI is only about how buttons, iconos, and menus appear, UX includes overall feel when using the product.
With Gemini, Google aims to profoundly change from navigation logic to how users interact with each step, instead of just enhancing the interface.
Along with that, the development of the macOS application shows that Google is expanding Gemini from a mobile platform to a December environment, where users need to handle more complex tasks.
Although there is no official launch date yet, this move is expected to enhance the experience and increase the competitiveness of Gemini in the AI race.
