Google adds new camera feature to NotebookLM application

QUANG MINH |

Google has just deployed a new camera feature for the NotebookLM application, allowing users to quickly upload images and use them as a source of information.

NotebookLM is a recording and research application developed by Google, using artificial intelligence (AI) to help users summarize, explain, analyze, and ask questions based on the documents themselves.

The NotebookLM app now integrates cameras to use images as data sources alongside text, audio, videos, websites, and files like PDFs.

In addition, the Add a source feature also has a new Image button, allowing you to review your photo library on the device, including a screenshot. This feature has appeared on the web version since mid-November and is now widely rolled out on the Android and iOS apps.

The addition of cameras helps users easily digitize real-life information, especially useful for students, office staff or anyone who often has to synthesize documents from many different sources.

In the context of increasing demand for flexible learning and working, allowing users to quickly operate on mobile is an important step to help NotebookLM compete more strongly in the AI assistant market.

While some features like chatt history synchronization have not been fully popular, the gradual update strategy shows that Google wants to ensure stability before rolling out widely.

With the current speed of improvement, NotebookLM is expected to soon become a key learning and research support tool of Google, bringing a seamless experience between the web and mobile devices, while creating more valuable choices for users in the booming AI era.
