Those who use Gemini can experience Deep Research for free, supporting more than 45 languages, without having to register for Gemini Advanced.
Deep Research allows users to request Gemini to create comprehensive reports on complex topics. Compared to regular chatbot, Deep Research operates more slowly with a purpose. Before searching for information on the web, Gemini will plan a detailed research plan to ensure the results are more accurate.
When first launched, Deep Research was powered on the Gemini 1.5 Pro model. However, with this expansion, Google has upgraded the tool to Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental, a chain thinking system that helps analyze problems in step by step before making conclusions.
"This upgrade helps Gemini improve research capabilities at all stages, from planning, search, reasoning, analyzing to reporting, creating more detailed and in-depth content," Google said.
Deep Research is not a new feature in the AI chatbot market. Many platforms, including ChatGPT, are also developing similar tools.
However, Google has gone one step ahead by becoming a pioneer in launching Deep Research early and has now expanded it to free to all users ahead of rivals like OpenAI.
