On June 11, Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, Ms. Gillian Bird, attended the opening ceremony of the Center with Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy and more than 300 guests from the Vietnamese Government, universities and businesses.
This breakthrough cooperation project between the Australian and Vietnam governments is implemented through a cooperation between the Vietnam Institute of Posts and Telecommunications Technology (PTIT) and the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
This center will provide a dynamic platform to implement innovation activities, promote excellent research, support policy making and practical applications of emerging and important technologies such as 5G/6G, artificial intelligence, semiconductors and cybersecurity.
The Center will gather the most outstanding experts from the group of scholars, industry, and government to solve challenges and seize opportunities from the digital future.
Ambassador Bird said: Australia is proud to cooperate with Vietnam to promote innovation and digital transformation, two essential factors for Vietnam's economic growth. This is a concrete demonstration of Australia's commitment to supporting the field of science and innovation within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

By promoting research and cooperation on strategic technology, as well as connecting Vietnamese organizations with Australia's leading education and innovation network, Australia hopes to support Vietnam in implementing Resolution 57 with practical and measurable results.
Digital technology and digital trade are the keys to promoting economic growth, development, and social welfare, including support for female businesses. This is the content reflected in the Strategy for Strengthening Economic Cooperation of the two countries.
The Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has provided initial support of 2.1 million AUD to establish the Center, with global telecommunications company Nokia providing technical equipment to support the Center's operations.
