National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man hopes that French enterprises will increase investment in high-tech and innovative projects.

On the afternoon of May 26, at the National Assembly House, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron.

The National Assembly Chairman expressed his pleasure at knowing that French President Emmanuel Macron had a substantial and effective meeting with General Secretary To Lam and Politburo member and President Luong Cuong with many positive and practical results.

French President Emmanuel Macron said that the two countries need to further strengthen cooperation based on friendship and trust in the future. Assessing that Vietnam is entering a new era, initiating a new wave of development, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his belief that this visit will open up new cooperation orientations between France and Vietnam.

The two leaders highly appreciated the economic, trade and investment relations between Vietnam and France for their impressive results, becoming an important pillar in bilateral relations.

Regarding parliamentary cooperation, the National Assembly Chairman stated that the Vietnamese National Assembly and the French Parliament have maintained a close relationship, contributing positively to strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

"The National Assembly of Vietnam highly appreciated the support of the French Parliament in promoting the French National Assembly to soon approve the investment protection agreement between the European Union and Vietnam (EVIPA), creating favorable conditions for the French and EU investors in Vietnam.

Sharing about the great potential for economic cooperation between Vietnam and France, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized: "Dhibiting this potential, the Vietnamese National Assembly will continue to reform institutions, we hope that French businesses will increase investment in high-tech projects, innovation, and participate more deeply in the global value chain in Vietnam".

French President Emmanuel Macron highly appreciated the role of the Vietnamese National Assembly in strengthening friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation with France, and proposed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries' Parliaments, especially in facilitating the ratification of bilateral agreements and agreements.

Responding to the proposal of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, President Macron said that he would direct relevant agencies to promptly complete procedures to ratify the Investment Protection Agreement between the European Union and Vietnam (EVIPA); highly appreciated Vietnam's efforts in overcoming the IUU yellow card and would discuss with the EC about considering the early removal of the IUU yellow card for Vietnam's seafood exports.

President Macron also highly appreciated the Vietnamese community in France for their positive contributions to the local and bilateral relations, including parliamentarians of Vietnamese origin; agreed with President Tran Thanh's proposal to continue creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to successfully integrate into France.
