According to Tech Crunch, Samsung will take advantage of Gemini's multi-vehicle processing capabilities to enhance Ballie's capabilities. With this combination, users can ask Ballie many questions and get answers from Gemini.
The Korean company will integrate its own artificial intelligence with Gemini AI to allow robots to receive both audio and images. For example, users can ask Ballie, How do I look?, and the robot will use a camera and the ability to analyze images to make suggestions for outfits.
In addition to giving fashion advice, Ballie can also use Gemini to provide health-related recommendations such as exercise or ways to improve sleep. Users can also ask questions from many different fields of knowledge to receive feedback from robots.
Mr. Yongjae Kim, VP of display business at Samsung, shared: Through this cooperation, Samsung and Google Cloud are redefining the role of artificial intelligence in the living space.
The combination of Gemini's powerful multi-modal reasoning capabilities with Samsung's AI technology in Ballie allows us to open a new era of AI companionship - a device that can move with users, predict needs and interact more flexibly and deeply than ever.
Samsung has introduced many Ballie versions at major technology exhibitions such as CES in recent years. In early 2025, the company said that Ballie will officially be sold in Korea and some other markets in the first half of this year.
Previously, Samsung also partnered with Google to integrate Gemini into the Galaxy phone line, starting with the Galaxy S24. The two companies are also said to be developing an expand reality (XR) device, in which Gemini may play a central role.
