MobiFone guides verification of subscriber SIM information according to new regulations

Phương Anh |

From April 15, mobile subscriber data will be synchronized with the National Population Database and displayed on VNeID.

New regulations according to Circular 08/2026/TT-BKHCN issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology to tighten the situation of non-genuine SIMs - the cause of spam messages, spam calls and many fraudulent acts in the past time.

According to regulations, telecommunications enterprises will conduct peer review and synchronize subscriber information with the National Population Database. On that basis, data is displayed through the VNeID application, allowing people to proactively check how many subscriber numbers they are holding.

Through the application, users can confirm the subscriber numbers they are using and be responsible for the numbers they have confirmed. For subscribers not used by themselves, people may not confirm them so that telecommunications businesses can handle them according to regulations.

Implementing the provisions of Circular 08/2026/TT-BKHCN, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation said that it will deploy many channels for customers to verify subscriber information, and at the same time strengthen technology infrastructure to ensure that the verification process takes place quickly, safely and conveniently.

According to MobiFone representatives, first of all, customers need to verify information on VNeID in accordance with current regulations.

After completing this step, subscribers can continue to choose one of the carrier's authentication channels, including:

- Perform online via the My MobiFone application.

- Or go directly to the MobiFone store system nationwide for authentication support.

To meet the deployment requirements, MobiFone has proactively prepared full technology infrastructure, completed the connection and control system with the National Population Database. In addition, the enterprise also upgrades digital platforms and optimizes online authentication processes, helping customers complete operations right on their phones quickly and conveniently.

In addition, MobiFone also arranges full resources at stores, customer care switchboards and support channels to provide timely guidance and answers, ensuring the authentication process takes place smoothly, safely, and in compliance with information security regulations" - a MobiFone representative said.

For subscribers who are foreigners using passports, due to the lack of data to compare with the National Population Database, verification via VNeID is not carried out until customers are granted an electronic identification account. For specialized customers, MobiFone said it will proactively send notification messages, strengthen communication through the customer care switchboard, and organize direct support forces when necessary to ensure that all customers can carry out verification conveniently.
