On the morning of July 30, the Conference and training on information security for journalists in the digital environment in 2026, organized by the Press Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), took place in Can Tho City. The program lasted for 2 days (July 30 - 31) with 113 trainees participating.
According to the Organizing Committee, this workshop and training aims to raise awareness, responsibility and vigilance for leaders, managers, specialized officials on digital transformation of the press and journalists, reporters, and editors of press agencies in the face of increasingly complex information security and network security risks in the digital age.

The training program includes 3 main topics. In which, topic 1 mentions the identification of fake news, verification of information and content generated by artificial intelligence (AI) in journalistic and digital media activities.
Topic 2 has content on Ensuring network security in the field of journalism. This topic will address many contents related to the criteria in Component Index 2.3 (Ensuring Information Security) of the Index set for assessing and measuring the level of maturity of digital transformation of journalism approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Decision No. 3560/QD-BVHTTDL dated October 6, 2025 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Topic 3 focuses on the Use of AI in journalism.


Mr. Dang Khac Loi - Deputy Director of the Press Department expressed his belief that after 2 days of training, 113 trainees participating will grasp the common network security risks and master the rules of personal information security as well as basic operating rules.
At the same time, students will become proficient in the process of verifying information, identifying generative AI content; and be able to proactively establish layers of protection for personal devices, social media accounts, investigation data, and channels for exchanging information with secret sources.
In addition, press agencies will improve the quality and reliability of published news, minimizing errors caused by accidentally using fake news or unverified AI products.

After completing 3 topics, the training class will have a field trip to the Can Tho Newspaper and Radio - Television Authority. At the same time, trainees will take multiple-choice tests to assess the quality as well as the knowledge and content that trainees have acquired from the training program. This result will be used as a basis for reviewing the list of trainees/units that achieved the program completion results.
