Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Lam Thi Phuong Thanh has just signed and issued Decision No. 1546/QD-BVHTTDL dated July 1, 2026 on extending the validity of the 2021-2025 term press card.
According to the decision, the validity period of the 2021-2025 term press card is extended until the end of September 30, 2026 to ensure continuous press activities during the implementation of the 2026-2030 term press card issuance.
The extension does not apply to those who have been granted a press card at scientific journals of higher education institutions, scientific research organizations, scientific research and technology development organizations organized in the form of academies, institutes and hospitals.
The decision also stipulates that during the extension period, those who have been granted a journalist card with a term of 2026 - 2030 must use a new card when carrying out professional activities.
At the same time, Decision No. 1546/QD-BVHTTDL replaces Decision No. 695/QD-BVHTTDL dated March 31, 2026 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on extending the validity of the journalist card for the term 2021 - 2025. The decision takes effect from the date of signing, July 1, 2026.
