OpenAI is preparing to expand the Sora AI application, a famous artificial intelligence video creation tool to the Android operating system, along with a series of new features to help users create more easily and vividly.
According to Bill Peebles, leader of the Sora development team, the Android version of the app will be released soon.
Users can now register in advance on Google Play, although the specific release date has not been announced.
This is the first time Android users have been able to directly access the advanced video creation platform, which was previously only available on iOS and tablets.
The new update, Sora 2, not only expands access but also introduces a series of powerful tools such as the character appearance feature that allows users to upload photos of pets or self-deseigned characters and turn them into AI animation.
The new editing tool helps join multiple clips in the app, eliminating the need for third-party software.
Improve performance and add new social features, making it easy for creators to connect, share and collaborate on the platform.
According to OpenAI, these improvements aim to simplify the video creation process, helping anyone, whether professional or amateur, to create cinematic quality products with just a few steps.
Sora 2 is considered an important step forward in bringing AI to the field of personalized storytelling, where users can revive their digital representative or pet and appear in videos.
Launched in early 2024, Sora quickly attracted attention thanks to its ability to create surreal and high-detailed videos. With Sora 2 version, OpenAI continues to affirm its pioneering position in the AI race for video creation, as rivals such as Runway, Pika or Stability AI are also developing similar products.
The launch on Android is expected to expand Sora's reach to millions of global users, making the app the most popular creative tool in the AI video era.
