In early October 2025, TikTok platform coordinated with the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05 - Ministry of Public Security) and the National Cyber Security Association (NCA) to launch the campaign "Preventing online fraud 2025", aiming to raise public awareness of network safety, helping users identify and prevent increasingly sophisticated forms of online fraud.
In the next phase, TikTok continues to deploy direct in-app scams to users nationwide.
This is the first time TikTok has synchronously deployed sending warnings about online scams to users right on the platform, with the goal of constantly reminding users about risks and helping users verify information before sharing personal data or interacting with unverified content.
Deploying live warnings in the app is part of TikTok's efforts to improve users' self-defense capabilities, through forms of interaction right at content touch points.
TikTok's warnings are expressed in many forms:
In-app notification: Displayed right on the platform, to continuously remind people about the risks of online scams.
Warning on the search bar: When users proactively enter related keywords into the search bar on the platform, such as: high salary, 0 VND gift receipt, link to receive rewards, urgent recruitment, online lover...
TikTok will display a warning notification along with a link to the H5 page #LuaDaoTrucTuyen2025 - where information and instructions on how to prevent online fraud from experts and content creators on TikTok are compiled.
Warning email: sent directly to the email account that the user has registered with TikTok, providing information about common forms of fraud and how to prevent them.
The warning system focuses on the three most popular types of online scams today: fake work, gift scams and dating scams. The warnings are designed to be concise, easy to understand and appear periodically to form a natural vigilance habit for users.
In the coming time, the campaign will continue to expand with three dedicated videos (hero videos) and two seminars livestreamed on the TikTok platform, to maintain discussions on network safety and spread online fraud prevention skills in the community.
