Recently, China's short video sharing social network TikTok announced that it will increase investment in the UK market, with the opening of a new office and creating more jobs.
It can be said that this move will create more than 500 new jobs, bringing TikTok's total number of employees in the UK to 3,000 in 2025.
TikTok also revealed that it is investing in a new office in London, expected to open next year.
Accordingly, the scale of this new headquarters will far exceed the current office, raising the group's total investment in UK infrastructure to about £ 140 million (about $190 million).
The announcement comes at the opening of London Technology Week, where UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer plans to meet executives of some of the industry's largest companies.
With more than 30 million monthly users, equivalent to nearly half of the UK population, TikTok has rated the UK as the largest user community of the platform in Europe.
However, TikTok was previously a " nightmare" for many Western governments due to concerns about the protection of personal data.
In response to these concerns, TikTok UK Director Adam Presser, who is also global operations, trust and safety director of Tiktok, emphasized that the company's growth driver is its deep commitments to safety and creating an exciting digital space to sustainably support creators, entrepreneurs and the economy in general.
