This platform adds an n button (Hide) to allow viewers to remove suggested windows appearing at the end of the video, which has long been complained by many viewers for causing trouble and obscuring content.
According to the announcement, users only need to press the Hide button in the upper right corner of the playback to hide these windows. However, the operation only applies to each individual video, meaning that when switching to another video, the viewer will have to click again. Although still inconvenient, being given control is said to improve the viewing experience.
However, YouTube also removes the Subscribe button when rushing to the watermark of a video on the computer version. The company admits that this feature is almost unnecessary, because the registration button is located right at the bottom of the video.
YouTube said that the two changes above hardly affect the effectiveness of content creators. The new move shows that YouTube is increasingly focusing on listening to community feedback, aiming for a more seamless viewing experience instead of just prioritizing growth indicators for the channel.
