Episode 2 of the program "Journey of Dreams" brings to the audience emotional moments in Hiep Thanh commune, Bac Lieu province. The main character this time is the family of Mr. Tran Minh Khai - a man over 60 years old, currently struggling to make a living every day by catching crabs.
Every day, he only catches 1-2 kg, earning less than one hundred thousand dong, but still has to take care of his wife who has heart disease and high blood pressure, and his nephew Tran Minh Thuong.
Thuong is facing the risk of dropping out of school due to poverty, while her father works far away and her mother left when she was only 11 months old.
In episode 2, besides the two recurring characters MC Quyen Linh and Nguoi Ket Noi, producer Nguyen Huynh Nhu also has a guest singer Ho Quang Hieu.
Together with members of Uncle Khai's family, Nguyen Huynh Nhu and Ho Quang Hieu overcame interesting but equally difficult challenges to bring home valuable rewards.
In the first challenge, “Cut bananas and water spinach within 3 minutes”, Uncle Khai and Nguyen Huynh Nhu formed a team, while his nephew joined forces with Ho Quang Hieu.
Both teams tried their best to complete the challenge. As a result, Uncle Khai opened the first mystery gift box with the amount of 2 million VND.
Coming to the second challenge, “Blindfolded Duck Catching”, Nguyen Huynh Nhu invited the sponsor representative to join her and Ho Quang Hieu, bringing much laughter to the audience. This challenge brought Mr. Khai’s family an additional 15 million VND.
The most touching highlight of episode 2 is when Uncle Khai's family reunites with his son, Tran Minh Khuong.
Appearing unexpectedly in the middle of the studio, Mr. Khuong was moved to tears and hugged his mother tightly. Then, he hugged his father and son in turn, and the whole family reunited in tears.
Mr. Khuong also shared the reason why he did not dare to call or answer his mother's phone because it broke his heart to hear her crying every time he called. As for the mother, every day she waited for her son from afar with the faint hope that he would return.
After a tearful reunion, father and son Khuong and little Thuong took on the third challenge, "Jump Rope and Throw Arrows." Upon completion, the family was able to open a third gift box, doubling the amount of money they had received previously.
However, Nguyen Huynh Nhu asked the audience to allow the family to withdraw once more, and luck smiled on them when they opened the gift box multiplied by 5, bringing the total amount to 85 million VND.
Not stopping there, the sponsor contributed an additional gift of 15 million VND, bringing the total amount of support for the family to 100 million VND.
