On January 24, Joo Ji Hoon returned to the screen with the medical blockbuster "Trauma Care Center".

Based on the popular comic book "Trauma Center: Golden Hour," "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call" delves into the dramatic world of doctors as they face life-or-death situations.

The main character is Baek Kang Hyuk (Joo Ji Hoon) - a genius surgeon with a stubborn personality, unwilling to compromise. Returning to Korea after many years of experience in the war zone, he tries to revive the hospital's trauma center and save patients on the brink of life and death.

Sharing with Korean media about "Trauma Care Center", Joo Ji Hoon assessed the film as an interesting story about a group of bold people, ready to stand up and fight against injustice.

The actor's role as Kang Hyuk is the one who takes responsibility for the life-or-death situations of the patients, so he can sometimes be a bit rude. This is also the reason why Joo Ji Hoon thought a lot about how to portray the character and balance the tension in the dilemmas to make the film more attractive.

"Before filming started, my two colleagues Choo Young Woo and Yoon Kyung Ho and I spent time studying to prepare for our new roles. Because if we didn't handle it well, it would seem like we were mocking or ignoring the seriousness of the life-and-death situations."

Meanwhile, director Lee Do Yun said that although "Trauma Care Center" uses medical drama terminology, it is not a typical medical drama.

"The difference in our film is that we borrow a lot of elements from the superhero genre. Although there are many action and comedy scenes, we still aim for authenticity in the operating room."

The director also appreciated the similarities between the male lead and Joo Ji Hoon. "Both are characters with clear directions. Once they decide something is right, they will move forward without hesitation. For Kang Hyuk - it's about saving lives, for Joo Ji Hoon - it's about acting."

Speaking further about controversial scenes such as drilling through a person's head on a helicopter, Lee Do Yun said that he and his crew received advice from doctors. They said that anything can happen in real-life emergencies.

"Keeping the scene as a way for us to convince viewers that Kang Hyuk will do anything to save his patient," he said.

According to the producer, "Trauma Care Center" was filmed in many different locations, promising to bring impressive scenes with many beautiful and impressive scenes to the audience.
