Rose's "APT." brings back attention to veteran singer Yoon Soo Il's song "Apartment" released 42 years ago.
Yoon Soo Il expressed his joy, "I'm really happy and it's a reason to celebrate that my song is getting attention again."
During an interview on SBS Radio's "Kim Tae Hyun's Political Show," Yoon Soo Il commented, "When both Rose and Yoon Soo Il's versions of 'Apartment' became popular, some netizens even created remix versions that combined both songs."
When the host asked if the youth enthusiasm for "Apartment" was due to Rose's version, Yoon explained that the apartment was a big cultural icon when he wrote the song.
Regarding Rose's version, Yoon Soo Il said, "Rose created a new perspective on the apartment concept with Bruno Mars, which fits the current trend.
As someone who has dedicated his life to music, I can say that the sounds, rhythms and melodies are made to appeal to the whole world."
Yoon Soo Il expressed his desire to meet Rose, saying, "She's like my daughter or granddaughter, so there's a bit of an age gap to meeting her, but when I start activities with a new album next year, I think we can meet someday. At that time, I really want to invite her to a meal, encourage her, and send my congratulations."
