On July 11, two Kpop "monuments" Blackpink and TWICE released new MVs, "JUMP" and "This Is For" at exactly 11 noon (Vietnam time). The choice of a time frame for the debut of both of the top girl groups has caused social networks to explode.
The MV "JUMP" marks Blackpink's international-style comeback with a combination of humorous, science fiction images and energetic music. Meanwhile, TWICE has a gentle, inspiring tone.
Although they have opposite concepts, both groups have chosen to approach the audience with iconic images.
Notably, both "JUMP" and "This Is For" are 2 songs with mostly English lyrics. While "JUMP" only has a small part in Korean, "This Is For" is completely in English, expressing the ambition of both famous groups to attack the international market. In the line from the song, both "JUMP" and "This Is For" honor feminism.
"This song is for all my girls. If you are sad or things are not going well, then this is the song for you" - the lyrics in "This Is For" are a cheer that brings explosive energy to a brilliant summer.

Meanwhile, "JUMP" hopes that the girls will freely express themselves: "That proud girl will sprinkle more spices on your life. Everyone knows I have something that makes people passionate. I've opened the show, let's explode."
Another common point is the huge spread right after the MV aired. Both products quickly reached a "huge" number of views on YouTube and created a strong influence on the social network TikTok. A series of cuts and dance challenges continuously appeared, proving the unprecedented appeal of the two "queens" of Kpop.
Blackpink and TWICE are two famous Gen 3 groups in Kpop. If Blackpink is known as a global group, TWICE is affectionately called as a national music group. Despite competing in real-life music, the members of TWICE and Blackpink have an extremely close relationship.
