Xports News reported that Disney+ confirmed that the decision to postpone the release of the movie "Knock-Off" starring Kim Soo Hyun has not changed.
On May 23, the Disney+ Open House event was held in Seoul, South Korea.
The event was attended by Choi Yeon Woo - Director of Local content at Walt Disney Korea Company; Kim Won Guk - CEO of HYBE Media Corp, the production company of the movie Made in Korea and Yoo Jeong Hoon - CEO of Merry Christmas, the production company of the movie A Shop for Killers.
At the event, director Choi Yeon Woo spoke about Disney+'s Korean content strategy and orientation for 2025.
Mr. Choi said: "We want to satisfy viewers with high-end content. We focus on four main points: blockbusters with large-scale and high-quality plots, carefully selected stories, commercial franchises that can expand globally and diversify formats that suit trends to explore new opportunities."
The list of Korean dramas scheduled to be released in the second half of 2025 was also revealed, including many works that gather many famous actors such as Made In Korea starring Hyun Bin, Jung Woo Sung; Tempest starring Jun Ji Hyun and Kang Dong Won; The Manipulated starring Ji Chang Wook and Doh Kyung Soo (D.O. )
In addition, there is the film Low Life with the cast of Ryu Seung Ryong, Yang Se Jong and Im Soo Jung; The Murky Stream starring Rowoon, Shin Ye Eun and Park Seo Ham.
Next, the show's lineup scheduled to be released in 2026 includes the drama "Delusion" starring Suzy and Kim Seon Ho.
Knock-Off, a project that is rumored to have an investment of 60 billion won, starring Kim Soo Hyun and Jo Bo Ah, scheduled to premiere in the first half of this year, has been postponed due to controversy surrounding Kim Soo Hyuns private life.
Knock-Off did not appear in the list of content released in the second half of 2025 and 2026 of Disney+.
Regarding this issue, CEO Choi stated: "Our official stance is to not disclose information after careful internal consideration.
It's hard to answer in another way. There are no separate updates beyond our original stance (on postponing the release of the film).
When asked about Kim Soo Hyun's contract compensation that could be up to hundreds of billions of won, Mr. Choi cautiously replied: "It's still difficult to answer this question."
