On April 22, British rock band Coldplay held their 4th concert in Korea, within the framework of the global tour "Coldplay: Music Of The Spheres".
The concert will continue at Goyang Stadium (Seoul), and Coldplay will have 2 more performances in Korea held at the same location on April 24-25.
Notably, on the evening of April 22, singer Rose (Blackpink) suddenly appeared as a special guest, along with Coldplay's lead singer - Chris Martin - performing the hit "APT." that she collaborated with Bruno Mars.
In videos and photos spread on social media, the Blackpink member wore dynamic outfits including a sleeveless crop-top shirt, shorts, combined with a sparkling silver jacket. After the show ended, Chris Martin and Rose gave each other a warm hug.
Fans expressed their excitement at seeing Rose and Coldplay perform together on stage. Rose is a long-time fan of Coldplay, she has covered many of the band's songs. Coldplay's social media account once shared a cover from Rose and gave compliments.
Last August, Rose sang the soundtrack for Apple TV+'s drama "Pachinko 2". The female singer performed Coldplay's song "Viva La Vida", once again showing the connection between her and the British band.
Meanwhile, APT. released in October 2024 quickly proved the appeal of a global hit, making Rose a top K-pop solo artist during Blackpinks hiatus.
APT. reached No. 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and spent 12 weeks at the top of the Billboard Global 100.
In addition to Rose, girl group TWICE will still be a regular guest artist throughout Coldplay's concerts in Korea during this tour. TWICE has collaborated with Coldplay to release a new version of the song We pray.
Previously, on the evening of April 19, the appearance of Jin (BTS) as a special guest performing with Coldplay also surprised the audience.
