According to Xports News, Song Mino (Winner) was prosecuted for violating the Law on Military Service. On May 23, Mapo Police Station, Seoul (Korea) transferred Song Mino's case to a prosecution station on suspicion of "ignoring community service obligations".
Korean media reported that Song Mino enlisted in the army and took on the position of social service employee from March 2023. After completing 1 year and 9 months of military service, the rapper was discharged in December 2024.
But a week before his military discharge, Song Mino was accused of not doing his job well. Winner members often take sick leave, annual leave, and rarely appear at workplaces in Mapo District, Seoul.
At the end of December, the authorities received a request for investigation from the Department of Military Service Management. The male idol was prosecuted without detention for violating the Military Service Act.
Song Mino recently admitted to the allegations during a third summons, different from what he had stated when working with the police in January. Although the statements were inconsistent, the rapper's side has not given any apologies or explanations to the public or fans in the past time.
At a recent press conference, a representative of the National Investigation Agency - under the National Police Agency of South Korea - said that they are continuing to investigate and supplement evidence based on collected documents. The authorities affirmed that the incident will soon end and notify the people.
