Director Khai Anh - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Television Film Center (VFC), under VTV - officially quit this unit in April 2025 after 25 years of association.
Khai Anh confirmed the above information to Lao Dong reporter.
On her personal Facebook page, Khai Anh shared her thoughts on her decision.
He wrote: "Start a new game! In my twenty-five years in the profession, I have had the opportunity to stand in the center of many stories, many films, many moments that the audience will remember. VFC is where I train my skills, a launching pad for me to go far. But like every game, it's time for you to get through the game to meet a new boss.
Khai Anh looking back at the past 4 months is a necessary break for him, to look back and ask himself: "If I had started from the beginning, would I dare to choose a difficult path? And the answer is: Yes. I even want the road to be more difficult and arduous".
He believes that the bigger the challenge, the more worthy the reward: freedom to be creative, daring to take risks, and once again feeling shaken by excitement.
With Khai Anh, he did not call this a breakup. He likened it to server transfer. Its still a familiar game storytelling with images but the rules are new, the map is new, the opponent is new. And I like that, the director wrote.
Khai Anh affirmed that his passion for the profession is still intact. For him: "Staying in a new place forever is a concern. If my heart still beats fast when thinking about the future, it means I have not lost my love for the job. And if no one has done it yet, it is worth giving me a try first.
Khai Anh was born in 1982, and has made his name on the small screen through many films loved by audiences such as "Tuoi tre xuan", "Nguoi dan tu", "Me cung"...
He is the son of People's Artist Khai Hung. Since high school, Khai Anh has followed her father to the film crew, doing small jobs such as secretary, assistant and even cleaning up the filming location. After graduating, he followed his father's career as a director.
In the early years, in addition to behind-the-scenes work, Khai Anh was also sent to attend international training courses, then officially recruited to VFC.
He stands out with his modern, bold style and focuses on exploiting the depth of character psychology, contributing to the renewal of the content and quality of Vietnamese TV series (also known as golden hour films).
In particular, "Youth 2015" is a Vietnam - Korea cooperation project marking a big step forward, expanding the audience.
The film "The Judge" 2017 became a real "blockbuster", reaping the Impressive Drama award at VTV Awards.
Not only outstanding in the feature film category, Khai Anh also participated in directing a series of short films, Tet films and entertainment programs that were carefully invested in, demonstrating her diversity in her role as director.
Another mark of Khai Anh is the role of General Director of the program "Gap nhau cuoi dan" with a comeback version in 2025 - a program that was famous in the period of 20002006 and had an initial idea from his father, People's Artist Khai Hung.
Before quitting his job, Khai Anh was Deputy Director of the Vietnam Film and Television Center VFC.
