Hoi NingNing and I were still trainees, we were considered a cute and innocent couple. When they told us that we would record Next Level, we thought it was a soundtrack song. It was actually our first song, Winter recalled.
Notably, Winter revealed that before debuting as a member of aepsa in 2020, she had missed the SM Entertainment selection round 3 times.
I signed a contract with SM Entertainment in 2017 and trained for 3 and a half years. I have actually gone through 3 selections from SM, the singer shared.
For the first time, SM is more interested in Winter's brother. In the second time, Winter was chosen at a dance festival because he had a better performance than his brother, but then failed. In the third time, she attended SM's global selection in Busan and was also not accepted.
After that, when she saw signs of acceptance from other companies, because Winter still wanted to join SM, she informed SM's representative that she was considering.
I told them that I could join another company, and they invited me to participate in the final audition. SM is the company I really want to go to, so I appeared at the audition. Thats how I became a part of aespa, Winter said.
