Speaking at the closing ceremony, Prof. Dr. TTND Le Ngoc Thanh - Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University, Hanoi - said that the graduation day closes the years in the lecture hall but at the same time opens up a journey of greater maturity, when knowledge must be transformed into professional competence, and ideals must be expressed through actions.

According to Mr. Thanh, behind each knowledge, skill, practice time, shift or contact with patients is a part of the process of forming a doctor and medical staff.

When new graduates officially enter the professional environment, the school principal especially emphasizes the role of medical ethics and lifelong learning spirit.

Knowledge is the foundation, but medical ethics, responsibility, professional bravery and lifelong learning spirit are the decisive factors in how they will become medical staff" - Mr. Thanh advised.

According to the Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the medical field is always changing while science and technology are developing at a rapid pace. Therefore, the graduation certificate is not the end point of study but a "passport" for new graduates to enter a new learning journey.

He also sent a message to new doctors, pharmacists, and bachelors: "Patients not only need someone with good expertise; they need a doctor who knows how to listen, knows how to share and knows how to put the patient's interests first.

The Rector requested new graduates in any situation to maintain medical ethics and the honor of a doctor. According to him, each student after graduation carries the school's name in their career journey; conversely, their contributions and the way they treat the profession also contribute to creating the school's prestige.
