However, this year they study according to the new general education program and are allowed to choose a subject. Therefore, if admission is combined with English - Math - Chemistry, students may pass this combination without studying Biology for the entire three years of high school. This is unreasonable.
Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son emphasized that schools are allowed to enroll themselves but must rely on enrollment regulations. The regulations do not clearly state which majors must choose which combination because there are many majors, but it must be based on the basic principle in admission, which is the reliability in assessing the input requirements, the ability to distinguish between candidates. If an admission method or admission combination cannot assess core knowledge and abilities for the training industry, schools must reconsider.
To solve this problem, the leader of the Ministry of Education and Training suggested that schools can add a few requirements on the entrance threshold. For example, the medical industry admission for Math, Chemistry and English requires candidates to study Biology at the high school level, and at the same time sets the floor score for this subject.
"This subject may not be directly included in the admission combination, but students still have to have certain knowledge" - said the Deputy Minister.
