The State Council of Professors said that in 2025, 900 candidates will achieve enough votes of confidence, the highest number since 2017. Of which, 825 candidates are considered for recognition as meeting the standards of professors and associate professors in 26 majors and interdisciplinary majors; the Military and Security majors alone do not make the list public.
The Economics major leads with 134 qualified candidates, followed by Medicine with 114 people. Literature is the major with the fewest candidates, only one person is qualified.
In the group of professors, Medicine is also the major with the most people with 14 new professors.
In the Literature industry alone, there is only one female candidate, Dr. Le Thi Thanh Tam, qualified as associate professor in 2025.

Ms. Le Thi Thanh Tam was born in 1975, currently the Head of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Regarding her training level, she was awarded a university degree on September 19, 1997; major: Literature, major: Vietnamese Literature, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University.
On February 19, 2002, she was awarded a master's degree and in 2027 was awarded a doctorate in Literature, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University.
Regarding her working process, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Tam has held many different positions. From 7.2018 - 7.2021, she was Head of the Ministry of Literature and Arts of Vietnam (2018 - 2022); Deputy Head of the Department (2018 - 2020); Deputy Head of the Department in charge (2020 - 2021). She is currently the Head of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
In her scientific research, her main research areas are Vietnamese Literature in the context of East Asia; Religion in relationship with literature, philosophy, and aesthetics; Vietnamese and Vietnamese research.
Dr. Le Thi Thanh Tam has published 41 scientific articles, including 2 scientific articles in prestigious international journals (main author and second author).
She has completed 8 NCKH topics from the grassroots level and above. Of which, 03 are for the grassroots level, 01 are for the State level, 02 are for the National University level, 01 are for the Ministry level...
In 2009, she received a certificate of merit from the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for her outstanding achievements in training and fostering excellent students in the 2008 - 2009 school year. In 2021 and 2022, she received a certificate of merit from Hanoi National University.
