According to the Central Central Hydrometeorological Station, from 4am on November 5th, in the Da Nang - Quang Ngai area, there was a total rainfall of 100-250mm, with some places having up to 300mm of rain.
From the early morning of November 5, heavy rain appeared over a large area in Da Nang. By about 7 am of the same day, many streets in Da Nang were flooded, many vehicles had difficulty moving.
Heavy rain caused flooding on several streets in the city, including Ho Nghinh, Nguyen Van Linh, Nui Thanh, Hoang Van Thai, Ton Duc Thang, Hai Phong.
The flooding occurred early in the morning when people were on their way to work, making traffic difficult and affecting people's business activities. Many houses were flooded, causing damage to furniture and affecting daily life.
Mr. Quoc Van - a resident of Da Nang City said that on the night of November 5, there was very heavy rain in the area. "This morning, I took my motorbike out of the house to go to work, it was still raining very heavily, some roads were flooded so it was very difficult to travel, many roads were impassable, I had to walk" - Mr. Van said.
Faced with the above situation, from early morning, many schools in Da Nang city proactively let students stay home to ensure safety.
Ly Tu Trong Primary School (Hai Chau District) has sent an early notice to parents stating: "Currently, it is raining heavily, flooding the roads around the school and the school yard. To ensure the safety of students, the school temporarily closed this morning (November 5). Parents should keep their children at home and wait for further notice. We hope that parents will understand."
Le Do Secondary School (Son Tra District) also announced: "Today (November 5), students will be off school due to heavy rain." Son Tra High School also proactively let students take the morning off on November 5...
According to the forecast information of the General Department of Hydrometeorology, from November 3 to 10, the Central region may be affected by some bad weather patterns causing heavy rain; after November 10, heavy rain in the Central region continues to develop complicatedly with the possibility of 2-3 heavy rains, in which the first half of November will be concentrated in the provinces from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai, the second half of November and early December will be concentrated in the provinces from Quang Binh to Phu Yen.
