On September 4, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung - Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Education and Training - said that the Department is advising the Provincial People's Committee to direct localities to adjust land use planning.
At the same time, he requested that the 15th Army Corps support the allocation of land to implement the school construction project according to Conclusion No. 81-TB/TW dated July 18, 2025 of the Politburo.
The Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board will select contractors with sufficient capacity to ensure the progress and quality of the project.
It is expected that in 2025, schools will start construction simultaneously, completed as soon as possible, contributing to improving the quality of education for students in mountainous areas and ethnic minority areas, Mr. Hung emphasized.
Along with construction preparation, these days, teachers and students at border schools such as Ia Mo, Ia Dom, Ia O, Ia Nan... are focusing on cleaning schools, ready for the opening ceremony of the new school year. Teachers proactively contact parents to mobilize them to take their children to school, avoiding the situation of following their parents to the fields to leave class.
At Luong The Vinh Primary and Secondary School ( Ia Pon Commune), in addition to preparing facilities, the school also coordinates with medical units and benefactors to take care of health, give textbooks and school bags to disadvantaged students.
According to statistics, 7 border communes of the province have 9,419 students, of which nearly 55% are ethnic minorities. Currently, there are 21 schools in the area, but most of them do not have boarding or semi-boarding functions, making it difficult for students in remote areas to go to class.
Conclusion No. 81-TB/TW dated July 18, 2025 of the Politburo on building boarding and semi-boarding schools for students in border areas has brought excitement to parents and people.
Implementing this direction, Gia Lai province requires the projects to not only meet the needs of classrooms, but also have dining areas and entertainment areas; ensure safety, sustainability, and suitability to natural disaster prevention conditions such as landslides and flash floods.
Schools built must meet standards, organize teaching and learning sessions 2 sessions/day and ensure students get free lunch at school.
According to the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province, border communes currently have about 7,134 students with the need to study as boarding and semi-boarding. The entire area still lacks 406 items and classrooms that need to be supplemented. The total demand for infrastructure investment capital is estimated at more than 378 billion VND, recommending the use of the central budget.
